Individual Instruction

Lessons are tailored to your current level and learning goals. Your instructor can help you build overall proficiency or focus on particular needs, such as conversation, writing, grammar review, or exam preparation.

The standard package includes 15 hours of live individual instruction, taken as either 15 lessons of 60 minutes or 20 lessons of 45 minutes. Flexible start dates allow you to begin throughout the year, and additional packages may be purchased to continue your studies.

Small-Group Study

Students who wish to study together may arrange a group of 2–6 participants. Group members should have similar language levels and compatible goals. Each package includes 15 live lessons of 60 minutes.

The cost is $270 per person for two participants or $225 per person for groups of 3–6. Contact us to discuss your group’s needs and scheduling.

Try online Russian study with four live individual lessons, supported by independent learning materials such as written exercises, recordings, and vocabulary activities.

The trial pack is suitable for any level. Complete beginners can explore the language, while those with previous experience can work on specific skills and get a sense of the instructor’s approach before continuing with a full lesson package.

Instruction is tailored to your level and goals, with materials and assignments selected to support your progress between lessons.

До начала курса вы получите задания (посмотреть фильм, прочитать текст, выполнить упражнения), материал которых станет основой для обсуждения на первой встрече. В процессе общения на первом уроке преподаватель будет фиксировать ваши ошибки, неточности, трудности, с которыми вы сталкиваетесь, чтобы на последующих занятиях предложить вам отработку данного материала. Преподаватель будет обращать ваше внимание на слабые места, давать рекомендации, объяснять особенности употребления тех или иных слов и форм в русском языке (лексико-грамматические конструкции, синтаксические обороты, неологизмы, фразеологизмы, правила произношения, стилистические особенности и др.). Вы получите задания, выполнение которых поможет вам справиться с вашими трудностями и сделает вашу речь более грамотной.

Heritage Speakers

По вашему желанию вы сможете: 1) изучить отдельные грамматические темы и отработать их в специально смоделированных ситуациях общения, 2) научиться грамотно письменно и / или устно выражать свои мысли на разные темы, 3) ознакомиться с особенностями разных стилей русского языка (художественного, публицистического, научного, официально-делового), 4) при необходимости улучшить умения чтения, аудирования, говорения или письма, а также 5) многое-многое другое.

Мы предлагаем вам индивидуальный курс, который будет соответствовать вашим запросам, поможет устранить ваши проблемы и в целом повысит ваш уровень владения русским языком.

Возможные варианты моделирования курса.

1. Вы сами знаете свои минусы и пробелы или имеете определенные цели и задачи – напишите нам, и преподаватель подготовит для вас нужный материал.

2. Вы точно не знаете свои проблемы, хотите, чтобы преподаватель помог вам разобраться и составил для вас план занятий. В таком случае до начала курса вы получите задания (посмотреть фильм, прочитать текст, выполнить упражнения), материал которых станет основой для обсуждения на первой встрече. В процессе общения на первом уроке вы вместе с преподавателем сможете составить план ваших уроков.

Индивидуальные занятия с преподавателем и выполнение заданий для самостоятельной работы помогут вам справиться с вашими трудностями и сделать вашу речь более богатой и грамотной.

After you register, we will contact you to arrange your lesson schedule and learn more about your language background and goals. You will also complete a brief written assessment to help your instructor prepare. Lessons can usually begin within one week of registration, subject to instructor availability.

Lessons are generally available on weekdays from early morning until approximately 2:00 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time. Your schedule will be agreed upon before instruction begins.

Please use a laptop or desktop computer for lessons. Headphones and a microphone are strongly recommended for clear audio. Live lessons take place through Microsoft Teams or Zoom, with homework and supporting materials available through Canvas.

Individual lessons may be rescheduled by giving your instructor at least 24 hours’ written notice.

If you miss a lesson or cannot attend for its full scheduled duration without providing the required notice, the missed time counts toward your lesson package and cannot be carried over to another lesson.

Lesson packages must normally be completed within six calendar months of the first lesson. All payments are non-refundable.

If you need to pause your studies, please notify SRAS in writing. Unused lessons may then be completed within 12 calendar months of the original start date. To resume, contact us in advance to arrange a new schedule, subject to instructor availability.

Lessons remaining unused after the 12-month deadline are forfeited.

This is a non-credit program offered in partnership with NovaMova Language School in Kyiv. SRAS can provide confirmation of participation for continuing education or other purposes.

If you plan to use your study toward a continuing education requirement, please confirm acceptance with the relevant institution or organization in advance.

If a student’s Russian language sequence is interrupted by a scheduling conflict, a semester abroad, or an unavailable course, individual online instruction can help them prepare to rejoin the next course in your sequence.
