The SRAS Ambassador Program gives students and alumni opportunities to share their study abroad experience, help other students learn about studying abroad, and earn funding for their contributions. Participate while abroad by documenting your experience, or after returning home by connecting with students on your campus.

Ambassadors can participate while studying abroad, after returning to their home campus, or both.
Abroad
Share your experience abroad through short articles, photo essays, video, and other content that helps future students understand what studying and living abroad is actually like.
At Home
Share your experience with students on your home campus by assisting with study abroad events, giving presentations, hosting information sessions, or developing other outreach activities.

Ambassadors Abroad
Ambassadors Abroad help document what everyday life and study abroad are really like in SRAS locations. Topics might include food, cultural events, local travel, recreation, housing, academic experiences, internships, research, language learning, or other aspects of living abroad.
We also welcome perspectives that can help future students prepare for their own experience abroad, including reflections on accessibility, dietary needs, religious practice, identity, independent research, internships, and other aspects of navigating daily life in a new environment.
Topics must be approved in advance. Depending on the assignment, SRAS may provide prompts or guidelines to help structure your submission. Photo requirements and other specifications will be provided when your topic is approved.
Ambassadors earn $50 for each published submission and may complete up to six submissions.

Ambassadors at Home
Ambassadors at Home help introduce other students to study abroad by sharing their own experience. SRAS provides materials and a personalized referral code, while Ambassadors choose outreach activities that make sense for their campus. Opportunities may include:
Assist at Campus Events
Join SRAS at study abroad fairs, information sessions, classroom visits, or other events on your campus.
Host an Information Session
Share your experience with a student organization, academic department, or other campus group. SRAS will provide materials to help.
Speak to a Class
Visit a language or other relevant class to share your study abroad experience and answer questions from fellow students.
Propose Your Own Idea
Have another way to reach students on your campus? We’re happy to consider other outreach activities.
Ambassadors receive a personalized referral code to share with students they meet through approved outreach activities. Students who use the code when applying receive a $50 application fee waiver. If a referred student enrolls in an SRAS program, the Ambassador receives $50—or may choose $100 in credit toward a future SRAS study abroad program or study tour.
To participate as an Ambassador at Home, students must:
- Have completed a SRAS study abroad program.
- Be enrolled at a North American college/university during the current or upcoming academic year.
- Be in good academic standing at their home institution and have successfully completed their SRAS coursework.
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
