Artificial intelligence is reshaping the landscape of terrorism and counterterrorism. This webinar examines how AI may amplify propaganda, recruitment, disinformation, and operational capabilities, while also creating new opportunities for prevention and counterterrorism. It will distinguish emerging threats from familiar dynamics and consider what researchers, policymakers, and security professionals should be watching next.
Speaker
Dr. Katarzyna Maniszewska is an expert at the Terrorism Research Centre and a lecturer at Civitas University in Warsaw and the University of Bialystok. Her research focuses on terrorism, radicalization, media, and emerging technologies. As a 2024 Kosciuszko Foundation Fellow, she conducted research with the Program on Extremism at George Washington University, and in 2025 she received the Fulbright-NATO Security Studies Award. She also serves as an expert for the EU Knowledge Hub on Prevention of Radicalisation and is the author of two books examining changing definitions of terrorism and contemporary patterns of cross-ideological radicalization.
Dr. Maniszewska directs the Security and Society Summer School in Warsaw and serves as one of its lead lecturers.

The Eurasian Corridor Lecture Series features primary and guest lecturers who contribute to SRAS programs across the Baltics, Central & Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. Through focused online lectures, they share regional expertise and perspectives on the political, social, cultural, and economic forces shaping the Corridor and its place in the wider world.
Event Format
Unless otherwise noted, each event includes a 25–30-minute presentation, followed by 15 minutes of moderated discussion and 15 minutes of questions from attendees. A recording will be sent to everyone who registers.
