Study Abroad in the Caucasus
The Caucasus countries of Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan lie at the crossroads of energy corridors, trade routes, historic empires, and military influence. A keystone of continental security, the region provides the shortest overland route between Europe and Asia that bypasses both Russia and Iran.
Culturally and linguistically, the Caucasus is among the most diverse regions in the world. Its dramatic geography has produced rich biodiversity and constellations of communities with strong local traditions in religion, language, cuisine, and connections to the land. These layered identities resist simplistic national narratives and illustrate how cultures and languages evolve and coexist.
To understand the Caucasus is to better grasp some of the modern world’s most complex and pressing challenges.
