About this project
A few times a month, SRAS will organize an online chat with native Russian speakers located in our study locations. General topics for these informal chats will vary, but all should should be spontaneous, friendly conversations that encourage you to make connections with your fellow graduates by sharing experiences and practicing your language skills together.
There will be at least two dates each month, one morning and one evening. As necessary, we’ll split the group into breakout rooms to accommodate different levels. Don’t worry if your Russian is a little rusty! Our native speakers will help you by modeling correct speech and reminding you of the words that may have slipped away.
Chats will last about 60 minutes and groups will be about four to six people, so that everyone gets both speaking and listening time. You are welcome to participate as often as you’d like. As the sessions are informal chats and aren’t sequential, you don’t need to worry if you can’t make them all.
To take advantage of this opportunity simply register for the sessions that you would like to join and let us know your approximate Russian level and study location and year with SRAS. Once you register for a session, we’ll send you a remind in the days leading up to the session and confirm the topic.
