The SRAS Region
Studying abroad isn’t just about changing your location—it’s about immersing yourself in entirely new ways of seeing and living. Each SRAS destination offers a distinct culture shaped by centuries of history, tradition, and innovation. Whether you’re connecting with locals, learning a new alphabet, or even heading to the local market, you will be engaging directly with a living culture.
All these locations offer opportunities for personal growth, academic achievement, and self-discovery. Wherever you go, you’ll advance your studies and broaden your resume with real-world skills in cross-cultural communication, problem solving, and resilience.
The information provided about the locations and cultures below are featured resources from the SRAS Family of Sites. These sites provide much more information than is linked to here. "Just yesterday my student successfully defended her honors thesis on environmentalism around Lake Baikal, a project that would not have been possible without the fieldwork that she conducted on her SRAS study abroad program in Irkutsk. I hope to see more such projects in the future and will keep directing students to SRAS programs!"
- Julia Chadaga, Macalester College
"At Stetson, we've used SRAS to arrange all of our student study abroad trips for the past five or six years. During that time we've sent dozens of students on summer- and semester-long programs in Moscow, St Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod and Irkutsk. In every interaction I've had with them, SRAS has been prompt, reliable, knowledgable, courteous and quick to lend a hand when needed."
