Welcome to St. Petersburg! Добро пожаловать в Санкт-Петербург! You have been invited here in preparation for an excursion to St. Isaac’s Cathedral, St. Isaac’s Square and a visit to Georgian cafe. You’ll be joining April, Elena, Zhenya and Darya. SRAS is excited to bring you to St. Isaac’s Cathedral virtually and we hope one day we’ll see you there in person. Very nice to meet you! Let’s start by letting Zhenya and Darya, SRAS Peer Tutors, introduce themselves:
So how does this work? SRAS will let you know how to access the virtual tour. At the designated time, log in and imagine yourself in St. Peterburg! April and Elena will tell you a bit about themselves and show you around St. Isaac’s Catherdal and Square and then you’ll have a chance to chat with Zhenya and Darya at a Georgian cafe. The experience is in English, but we’ll sprinkle some Russian in there, too – listen carefully. During the experience, please consider the following:
- If you can’t hear – let us know – send a chat or speak up
- If you have a question, don’t be shy – just ask or send it via chat
- We might have some polls or questions for you to keep things interesting – please participate. Remember that these are just for fun, we’re not grading!

- and more – there is always something interesting going on St. Isaac’s Square!
You’ll see a lot of Russians out and about – maybe we’ll even stop to say hello to a few. Don’t hesitate to ask if you are curious about something you see. This is an opportunity not just to see a place, but get a sense of the people there. We’re looking forward to seeing you – до встречи!
