Welcome to Moscow! Добро пожаловать в Москву! You have been invited here in preparation for an excursion to Red Square. You’ll be joining Alex and Marina, SRAS Peer Tutors. Let’s start by letting Alex and Marina introduce themselves:
So how does this work? Your instructor will let you know when the excursion will take place and how to access it. At the designated time, log in and imagine yourself in Moscow! Marina and Alex will tell you a bit about themselves and show you around. The excursion is in English, but we’ll sprinkle some Russian in there, too – listen carefully. During the excursion, please consider the following:
- If you can’t hear – let us know – send a chat or speak up
- If you have a question, don’t be shy – just ask or send it via chat
- We might have some polls or questions for you to keep things interesting – please participate. Remember that these are just for fun, we’re not grading!

There is so much to see on and around Red Square, but we only have a short time. The plan is to show and tell you about:
- The Kremlin Towers
- The Mausoleum (Vladimir Lenin’s tomb)
- St. Basil’s catherdral
- Lobnoe Mesto
- Nikolskaya Street
- GUM (shopping Center)
- and more – there is always something interesting going on at Red Square!
You’ll see a lot of Russians out and about – maybe we’ll even stop to say hello to a few. Don’t hesitate to ask if you are curious about something you see. This is an opportunity not just to see a place, but get a sense of the people there. We’re looking forward to seeing you – до встречи!
